Thailand’s National Focal Point for the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety is responsible for implementation of the convention, protocol and other biodiversity-related agreements
Roles and responsibilities :
The national focal point shall :
encourage implementation of obligations arising from international agreements.
follow up implementation of obligations of the convention and the protocol to formulate policies, measures and plans on conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
develop networks and information systems on biodiversity and establish clearing-house mechanism.
prepare reports on state of biodiversity in Thailand.
serve as a secretary to the Committee on Conservation and Use of Biodiversity and to any biodiversity-related subcommittee. |
