Roles of CHM

     According to article 18.3 of the CBD, CHM is established to facilitate scientific cooperation, which technically means capacity building of transfer of scientific and technological information, bringing opportunities for stakeholders to use or further develop such information and technology. The convention determines that CHM is to be more than a technical facility and may have roles in transferring technology and financing scientific and technological cooperation.
The role of CHM is only to inform interested Parties of technology relevant to CBD implementation, especially free access technology.

CHM is comprised of 3 key components.

       National Focal Point

       Thematic Focal Point
